Vocabulary plays the vital role in your English fluency. The wider your vocabulary are, the more clearly and quickly you could communicate in English. Even when you are not good at other English language factors such as Grammar and Pronunciation, provided that you use the correct words, the listener could still understand you. No matter how important it is, building English vocabulary is still a difficult mission on which many English learners give up easily, especially the ones who are not in love with this language or do not have enough time for it.
With a view to developing an application that helps users master English vocabulary stably and actively, our team have conducted research on English learners’ problems, worked on them and developed “Build Your Vocabulary”.
The advantages of our application are as below:
Word categories: “Basic words” including the most frequently used words in both spoken and written forms; and “Vocabulary for IELTS” including words by 16 common IELTS topics.
Word types: you can choose which word type to learn among Verb, Adjective, Adverb, and Noun. These four types make the main components of a sentence, so when you master words of these types, you could use English smoothly in most cases.
Pronunciation: you will hear word’s pronunciation first and guess which word it is before actually seeing the word. This would help you correct and perfect your pronunciation really efficiently.
Learn: you will learn word after word. The most common meaning of each word would come as the answer to a multiple choice question. “Other meanings” provides the less common meanings of the same word. “Word Family” shows the other types and forms of the same word.
Practice: after having learnt a word, you would practice making a complete sentence using some given words (including the word you have just learnt). There will be a sample answer for your reference.
Bookmark: you could click the Star button next to each word to save it in Your Wordbook.
Your Wordbook: consisting of “History” which list all the words learnt, “Basic Word book” and “IELTS Wordbook” which list all the words that you chose the wrong answer to the multiple choice question or chose “C. I am not sure” or bookmarked.
Learning method: presenting how to learn with this app.
With a great deal of dedication and efforts that our team have put on developing this application, we do hope that “Build Your Vocabulary” would become your helpful and trustworthy companion in your journey of vocabulary building and expanding.
